Despite this very difficult time, we were able to implement an orgazination preserving the health and safety of our employees which enables us to meet our customers’ needs..
Thank you to all of our employees for their involvement, support, courage and solidarity that ensure the sustainability of our group – whether at home, in the office or on site when sanitary conditions are implemented.
3 days in advance, milestone 2 in ITER construction was successfully passed.
Seventeen months ago, our client F4E requested us to advance the transfer operation of the 750 T overhead traveling cranes and the load tests of the new TOKAMAK building by three months. This challenge was accepted by the New Build teams in the Nuclear Division, which meant not only reducing the time of our activities but also working in co-activities with the erection of the building. For example, the mounting of the rails was carried out when the roof and the walls were not yet installed. Once the rails were in place, the 750 T cranes were transferred from the TOKAMAK component assembly hall to the building that will house it. The following operation consisted in carrying out load tests on the building to validate its capacity to support the approximately 3000T of mass that will be in motion during the assembly of the future fusion reactor.
A message from ITER Director-General Bernard Bigot
Our Nuclear Division teams are on the front line to contribute to energy continuity with EDF and its partners . Once sanitary requirement implemented we were able to resume activities safely. Whether on construction sites such as the project of screening drums, polar cranes and heavy crane modifications or maintenance activities , the women and men of REEL are mobilized to intervene safely.
A big thank you to them for their mobilization, their professionalism and their flawless motivation.
They actively contribute to cope with this crisis by securing the continuity of electrical production.
Our teams at REEL ALESA, REEL NKM Noell and REEL COH are on the ground and mobilized with their customers, taking care to properly apply barrier gestures, whether in Norway, Taishet or Barhain.
For their part, our Xiamen teams after the wave of the epidemic in China took care of the logistics to send thousands of masks to Europe.
REEL Norway team has been very proud to receive The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society award at TMS Annual Meeting
